PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) San Diego, CA
Harvesting regenerative therapy from your own body!
This picture shows incredible PRP hair results performed in our office after 3 treatments spaced 1 month apart. PRP is most effective if started in the early stages of hair loss while the follicles are still present. Our providers will perform an individualized assessment and workup to formulate a comprehensive treatment plan with you including diet, supplement evaluation.
When PRP is injected into the scalp, it has been shown to improve blood flow to the hair shaft, and increase the length of time spent in the growth phase. A research study from 2014 performed in India found that PRP improved hair thickness in male and female participants by 30-40%.
It is recommended to perform at least 3-4 treatments spaced 1 month apart, then consider maintenance therapy every 3-6 months for best results.

FAQ's
What is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is treatment that has been used for many different conditions from hair growth, skin rejuvenation, sports injuries, joint healing, wound care.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is obtained from a simple blood draw, then spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma (which contains platelets) from other blood products like red and white blood cells. This plasma is a yellow colored liquid which contains platelets, which are specialized cells that help form clots within blood vessels. It was discovered that when these platelets come in contact with tissue that it is injected into, they release growth factors which can stimulate healing and regeneration of different tissues, skin, and hair follicles. Some have given it the name “liquid gold” because of how valuable these growth factors are.
Some of these growth factors include: platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF).
Where Can PRP be Used?
We use PRP to help promote regenerative healing in several different areas. PRP can be micro-needled into skin of the face and neck to improve fine lines, skin texture, and tone. We can also inject PRP into specific areas like under eyes or deep creases to improve skin elasticity and reduce under eye bags. PRP is also able to be injected across the scalp to promote hair growth in clients suffering hair loss.
